"To date, we have raised over £253,000, which goes towards the running costs of CLIC Sargent's holiday home, Malcolm Sargent House, Prestwick, Scotland.
This money will ensure that more children with cancer and their families get a holiday, when they most need it."

Daily Record's Our Heroes Awards
In April 2010, I received a phone call from the Daily Record saying that I had been nominated for the Fundraising Hero of the Year Award - my gorgeous little son, Ross had sent them an e-mail, with a little bit of help from his Papa. Not only had I been nominated, but I was one of the final 3. WOW. I couldn't believe it. This is fantastic. I was invited to a glitzy ceremony at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel on Friday 7th May.
The big day arrived and we took our seats ready for a wonderful evening. Jackie Bird and Tam Cowan were the hosts for the evening, with Sandi Thom and Jedward providing the entertainment. My catagory was up 1st. I was so relieved about this as I could then relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
The competition was tough. There was a woman who had donated a kidney to her sister and now raises funds for kidney reseach. There was a group of Celtic supporters who had raised funds to convert the home of a paralysed man. And there was me.
I couldn't belive it when my name was called out as the winner. There was a short film shown on the big screens about me, Ross and some of my fundraising events. Sandi Thom presented me with my award.
I am so thrilled to win this fantastic award, but, to be honest the biggest reward I get is getting up every morning and seeing my happy healthy son smiling at me.
For the first year after this, I thought life couldn't get any worse. But now I get up every morning, and I think life can't get any better. You see, on this dreadful day in 2004, my son Ross, was diagnosed with cancer.
He was just 11 months old. Ross is now a happy, healthy 7 year old - just a "normal" wee boy, going to school, playing football, being mischievous......and I wouldn't have it any other way. Throughout Ross' treatment - and beyond - the UK's leading children's cancer charity, CLIC Sargent were there for us. Since Ross went into remission, I have become a volunteer for CLIC Sargent - raising funds at every opportunity.
To date, I have raised over £253,000, which goes towards the running costs of CLIC Sargent's holiday home, Malcolm Sargent House, Prestwick, Scotland. This money will ensure that more children with cancer and their families get a holiday, when they most need it.
